  1. This is very sad to see with so many people going hungry.

  2. Some of the places in NY will donate food that hasn’t sold by the end of the day to senior centers or food banks.

  3. Do we know what happened or should we just jump to conclusions and believe what our mind is telling us?

  4. You should see how much stuff supermarkets throw out every day

  5. This shit should be illegal. Need a French-style food waste law here.

  6. They should sign up to Too Good To Go. Loads of restaurants and shops have signed up – sell remaining stock at a reduced price and avoid food waste.

  7. Could it be contaminated food? Once saw a pigeon run riot in a bakery resulting in most of the counter food being thrown out.

  8. Awful. List it on Too Good to Go, offer it to a local charity that feeds the homeless, offer it at a reduced price because it needs to be eaten soon. Don’t just throw away heaps of edible food.

  9. They do this in Sainsbury’s with all the sweet pastries. Not allowed to give them the elephants, but all the other stuff goes to the zoo. Unless of course these bagels are also going there.

  10. Theres a big homeless community arorund Hackney/Brick lane…

  11. back in the early 2000 I would go to Berwick street farmers market and the vendors would sometimes give us whatever they werent going to sell. Maybe it had some mold or something that needed to be cut off.. Anyway, I ate like a king off that produce, and when I see things like this, it breaks my heart. One persons trash, is another persons treasure…..

  12. I saw you today on brick lane Taking the picture about it. Never tried beigels but is actually waste to throw them out like this.

  13. I was in for lunch today, it was probably the shortest queue I’ve seen there. They clearly overshot demand a fair bit
