The pair were part of a roster that went through the entire week at the Division 2A tournament, posting a 100 per cent record.

The gold medal was secured on Saturday with a 3-2 win over hosts and pre-tournament favourites.

Across five games, Alisha contributed two goals and four assists, while Lydia also managed two goals, as well as an assist.

Head coach Sean Alderson said: “I am incredibly proud of the group, the players and the staff.

“Everyone bought into our vision and stuck to our systems, helping us achieve our goal of winning gold and gaining promotion.

“The resilience and patience of the group throughout each game was fantastic.”

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs’ senior side will be aiming to get back to winning ways on home ice this weekend in National Ice Hockey League Division Two North, as they look to bounce back from a pointless double-header.

Andy Brown’s seventh-placed side host Coventry NIHL Blaze at The Pound, where they came off second-best last weekend against Yorkshire rivals, Kingston Sharks.

The 5-4 defeat on home ice came 24 hours after Brown’s men lost 8-4 on the road at Altrincham Aces.

After Sunday’s defeat, head coach Brown said: “I felt we battled hard this weekend and maybe deserved to take some points from it.

“On Saturday we got off to a slow start going down by two in the first and then gave up four goals in three minutes to leave us 6-0 down halfway through the game.

“The boys showed good spirit to fight back, winning the remaining 30 minutes 4-2. Ultimately we paid the price for turning the puck over too cheaply.

“Sunday was a much closer game and could have gone either way. Again, simple errors were our downfall and we gifted them too many chances in our zone.

“Hopefully we can take the good parts from both games and convert them into a solid 60-minute performance against Coventry this weekend.”

That game, the Bulldogs versus fifth-placed Coventry NIHL Blaze at the Bradford Ice Arena, takes place tomorrow, with doors opening at 4:45pm for a 5:30pm face-off.

Tickets for the game are £6 for adults, while concessions (OAPs and Under-6s to Under-16s) cost £3.

You can buy a family of four ticket for £15 too if you so wish, while Kids (Under-5s) can come and watch the Bulldogs for a pound.
