If petrol prices continues to increase …

  1. You know back during the Oil Crisis in the 1970’s this did actually happen, there were people who switched over to riding horses from place to place (though nowadays im not sure how manay people couldnt afford petrol but can afford to own and care for a horse)

  2. Isn’t that what Eamon Ryan and his ilk want us to go backwards. So the rich can have the electric cars in the cities then the little people in the country side can come round in the horse and trap and make sure the place is kept going backwards. Begorrah begosh, sure country folk are all thick and need to be told what to do other wise they will get above there station.

  3. What I don’t understand. When I worked, I drove like 60 kilometres per day, 24 days to work and back. Let’s say consumption was 5L per 100 km. If my calculations are correct, I spent 72-75 liters every month. (Never actually checked, but with my tank of 55 it’s roughly correct.). So per price 1.30 fro diesel it cost me like 100 eur per month. If diesel cost is 2.30 – it will add me just 70 eur! And now I’m WFH, so I’m spending even less. Are you guys really joking, telling this is some crysis or end of the world? Have you ever been in real poverty, like Lithuania or Russia in 90th? Why the panic?

  4. Horses would be great, but they need barns and lots of food. Frankly, the cost of real estate and food puts them out of my reach.

I think bicycles and scooters will become very popular as a response to high gas prices.
