Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t a result of Scottish people being more responsible in their testing and properly registering their contact details at venues.
I am English living in Scotland, and Scottish people have seemed to take covid a lot more seriously from the start. Going out on food shops and into town, I regularly see upwards of 90% mask compliance still. By contrast having travelling back down to England I was horrified by the complete lack of masks everywhere I turned.
It seems like most everybody over the border have just collectively decided that covid is now over and are happy to stand over the fruit and veg aisle coughing their guts up over the produce. Absolutely no sense of collective responsibility.

We have stopped free tests, and regular testing in things like schools.
Is it any wonder case numbers have fallen if less people are testing?
Deaths don’t seem to be falling, still hovering around 150 a day on the 7 day average.

It’s incredible how the science-led strategies from England are doing better than the hysteria-led strategies of Scotland
