Reform ahead of Tories in every major poll for first time

1. I really hope this doesn’t turn into a race to the bottom, with both parties getting more racist and open about it. I don’t see it going any other way though.

2. Reform won less seats than the Lib Dems and around the same amount of seats as the Greens. And yet the mainstream media has seemingly placed an omertà around even acknowledging any successful gains made by the Greens and Lib Dems and instead spent six months building this narrative that Reform have come out of nowhere and now present a legitimate voice in setting the political agenda.

   All of this – the polls, the articles, the constant cozy chats with Farage on day-time TV – seem designed to manufacture consent for Reform as a viable political party. They’re not. They have no more of a mandate to set the agenda than the five independent MPs (who are never given any airtime on mainstream TV) or the MPs from other small parties (who are likewise barred from having a voice.) They’re being given an unending media platform to sell the idea of Reform to the public without the need to have any policies, beliefs or commitments to back it up.

   Contrast and compare with the hostility the media had towards Labour between 2015 and 2022 and the red carpet treatment being given to Farage and Reform and it starts to become fairly obvious that a big part of what is seen as “electable” in British politics is decided by the media then sold back to the public through endless spin.

3. Is this a story about Reform’s successes or Labour’s failure?

   As a Kier voter for the last election what they’ve done over the last six months is just pathetic on all fronts. Broken promises, taxation, migration, housing. They’ve taken their mandate and thrown it into the bonfire. It’s clear Britain needs a third party because fuck giving Tories another chance.

4. This is what happens when the mainstream thinks it’s better to pander to racism rather than challenge it. People just go for the real thing.

6. Reform really need to win the next election, our two main parties are well aware of the problems this country has, but refuse to do anything about them for fear of being labeled racist or xenophobic.
   One five year term of Reform doing all the dirty work and then I imagine one of the other two will be back in and we can get on with life again.

    It is a bit of a warning to Labour that they need to actually get control of immigration though, that’s the main reason people say they’d vote for Reform.

    Labour had an amazing opportunity to really cement themselves as a party for the people and they have don’t nothing but tow the Tory line. Just like the conservatives handed this election to t Labour, Labour are now handing it to reform.

14. Labour needs to stress that Reform economic policies will be similar or even worse than Truss. Labour needs to impress in economy and control migration and Reform will have no chance.

    Labour will try everything to prevent them getting utterly anhiliated….such as:

    All immigrants legal and illegal to be given voting rights. Votes for 16 year olds….although Gen Z have rejected the woke mind virus.

    It won’t work. The public as seen in these polls are sick to death of the Uniparty and their deranged net zero obsessions, open borders, wrecking businesses and cronyism.

18. You would think after Trump was elected and watching him dismantle America., folk would back offReform. Being associated with racist bigots is a bad look. Allowing a Nazi to interfere, Elon is disgusting.Thought us better than than that. Hoping this is only a glitch.

19. People like to forget that Farage was one of the dipshits that catapulted UK into what it is now. Putting them in charge will just make things even worse because they’re philosophically Tories v2.1

25. It scares the hell out of me. Why are people so gullible?! I guess the point here is how low the Tories have fallen rather than anything else? Normal people aren’t worrying about polling with 3+ years left till an election.

    That said, I don’t think Starmer is prepared for the next one and Labour absolutely should be working hard to make sure they don’t concede to Farrage of all people. The UK can’t stoop that low, surely?
