BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) – Saturday was the final day of the Illinois High School Association’s State Dance Finals in Bloomington,
More than 90 teams competed at Bloomington’s Grossinger Motors Arena for the 13th consecutive year.
The estimated 9,000 visitors staying in hotels, eating at restaurants, and filling their cars with gas were expected to boost the Twin Cities’ economy by almost $740,000, according to the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
In the arena, many fans shined their phone flashlights to encourage the dancers.
There were three separate levels of competition. Providence Catholic High School is the 1A champions, Geneva was crowned the 2A champions, and Roselle Lake Park won the 3A championship.
