I was away for the weekend and met the adorable Lincoln, also known as the Tesco cat. No, unfortunately he's not for sale for £8.50. I found out that he visits Tesco every day, sleeps in the entrance and has his own Facebook profile for local sightings. He's recently done a charity calender and now has his own book deal!

I don't have one at my local shop but a few comments mentioned their own local versions of Lincoln. Anyone else have a local supermarket cat??

  1. My town had a petrol station cat. She had a loving home, but she preferred sitting on the bags of charcoal outside the petrol station. Sadly, she passed away recently. There is also a cat that likes to sleep on the chairs in A&E.

  2. Looks like he’s wearing a security tag round his neck! So cute

  3. I’ve met Lincoln in person, he’s a good looking lad. 😍 The collar is a tracker btw.

  5. Lincoln is short for Lindum Colonia, the Roman name for the town founded around 60AD.

  6. We also have a Tesco cat.. George. And he’s orange too. He just wanders round the carpark all day waiting to be made a fuss of.

  7. I thought ours in Cookstown was unique! They like chilling at the entrance, usually on coal or soil bags

  11. My family’s local supermarket had a cat for years until she was unfortunately run over in their car park. The shop now has a plaque dedicated to her next to the customer service desk.
