Latvia also begins its “journey” to Basel , by hosting the semi-final of Supernova 2025!
As you were first informed by OGAE Greece , the Latvians – for another year – chose the “traditional” way of Supernova . Although last year Dons managed to bring back Latvia in the Eurovision final after 8 years , the interest of his fellow Latvian artists in the contest slightly decreased. For example, the songs submitted to the country’s public television, LTV , reached 96 in total , compared to 108 for 2024.
A special jury, consisting of Latvian musicians , television personalities and foreign experts , listened to the 96 entries submitted in the first phase. From these, it came down to the 20, at first. Now, only 19 of them are left.
This is because last Tuesday, it was announced that Grēta is withdrawing from this year’s Supernova, as she is dealing with health problems. According to Supernova producer Guntars Gulbiņš, nothing changes in the competition and there is no replacement. So, 19 entries will “fight” today for the 10 tickets leading to the grand final.
THE SEMI-FINAL’S RUNNING ORDER
Thus, the 19 candidates who will compete tonight with the sole goal of securing the 10 “golden tickets” for next Saturday ‘s final are the following, based on the official running order:

WHAT ELSE CAN WE EXPECT FROM TONIGHT’S SHOW?
Tonight’s show is scheduled to start at 20:10 CET from the Riga Film Studio in Riga. Ketija Šēnberga and Lauris Reiniks will be our hosts for tonight.
The final result will be determined by a combined vote of the jury and the public at a rate of 50 – 50% .
