What’s the point of this article? Not even a link to the statement
And?
Any minute now…
So they ended an investigation into a party apparently misusing freely donated money from members and other voluntary benefactors. Great. Not really sure it was worth all the fuss in the first place, but whatever.
Can they go after the Tories now who misused actual public money to the tune of billions over their 14 year tenure?
It seems a KC is inferring the end of the investigation based on a minor change in language from Police Scotland.
I think the reality is, no one is sure it has actually ended.
April 2026, they’ll make the most out of it they can for election season, then it’ll fizzle out.
If this doesn’t result in anything significant – watch those that have been saying that this is a complicated investigation so Police need time to investigate properly – pivot to this is some sort of cover up/ fix.
The investigation has only ended as far as the police are concerned – they have concluded their investigation and handed the findings over to the crown prosecution service who will now decide who to charge and with what.
Stage 1: done.
You mean the police didn’t find millions buried in their back garden?
< heads to bookies and puts money on this story disappearing again until 2 months from the Holyrood elections in ’26 >
