The 25th edition of Slovenian national selection for Eurovision Song Contest, EMA has just finished. A total of 12 artists were chosen from 114 submissions in order to compete for a chance to become the successor of Raiven as Slovenian representative at the contest which will take place in Basel this year. Slovenia will be performing in the first half of semi-final 1 which is set to take place on 13th of May.
EMA 2025 was hosted by their last years representative Raiven and Slovenian singer, songwriter and guitarist, Gregor Strasbergar – Štras. The artist which will wave the Slovenian flag at Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is Klemen Slakonja with “How Much Time Do We Have Left”. The running order of the show was as follows:

Astrid & The Scandals – Touché
Jon Vitezič – Vse ti dam
Kiki – O-ou!
Eva Pavli – Niti

July Jones – New Religion

The winner of EMA was selected after two voting rounds. The first one consisted out of the votes of 5 jury groups who gave the points to their top 10 in Eurovision style. The top two acts which proceeded to the Super Final were Klemen with “How Much Time Do We Have Left” and July Jones with “New Religion”. The results after the jury votes were as follows:
Klemen – How Much Time Do We Have Left – 51 points
July Jones – New Religion – 50 points
Astrid & The Scandals – Touché – 32 points
Kiki – O-ou! – 31 points
ZveN – Divja – 21 points
RAI – Frederick’s Dead – 21 points
Eva Pavli – Niti – 18 points
Anna – Čau – 15 points
PolarAce – Kind – 15 points
Jon Vitezič – Vse ti dam– 10 points
Žan Videc – Pusti da gori – 8 points
Trine – Grace – 8 points
After the super finalists Klemen and July performed their songs again the final decision was made solely by the audience votes. Raiven and Štras read out that KLEMEN will be representing Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel.
Klemen Slakonja is a comedian and TV presenter who hosted EMA four times and now he went from the host of it to Slovenian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. He is also the one behind some of the interesting parodies and interval acts one includes the walk down the history of Slovenian Eurovision representatives for the 25th anniversary at EMA 2020.
