I have this feeling that they will only target certain, very specific EU countries (and Italy won’t be one of them).

Honestly, I wish they tariffed us. While we have the rest of the world to commerce with, and not depending so much on the usa would only be good for us, they would only collapse faster

Considering that Meloni is basically the only “friend” European leader for Trump, I’m really curious to see how this will play out.
They can’t tariff everyone except us, the EU is a common market and everything that goes through us would be exempt from tariffs. Sure, for everyone (except us) there would be an extra step to trade with the US, but effectively not much would change.
If they tariff all EU countries, it’ll be interesting to see how our idiots that have always liked Trump will react. “Trump is good news for Italians”, wonder how Salvini will justify our products being hit by tariffs. Meloni has always spoken very negatively about possible US tariffs, I would like to hope that if Trump enforces them even on us the relations between him and her would worsen, but I doubt it will happen. They always defend “the Italian interests”, but when it’s one of their friends doing bad things against us it’s all good!
On one hand, I’m sure Trump doesn’t want his computer chips to go expensive and be sold to China.
On the other hand, he’s too fucking stupid to realize we make them.
One good idea could be for netherland to help, blocking any exportation of microchip engraving tool to the US and see how will intel be doing in a few month

We become friends with Americans so we don’t get extra taxes, then you guys create phantom duplicate of yours company in our country to export without taxes.
I think we are all screwed, the eu wont have other chance than implementing counter tariffs on us lng gas, the price of it will skyrocket, and it will force the eu to apply pressure on both russia and ukraine to end the war, probably in favor of russia. I hope Im wrong. The other possibility is, major eu countries will see falling of democratic governments to the far right parties, but the end game will be the same.

Why do we not start to put Tarifs on US Social Media platforms in Europe? Facebooks ARPU per European user was 15 USD. Let them pay tariffs of 10€ per user for market access.
We should trade more with West Denmark (Canada) and West Spain (Mexico).
