I stumbled upon [Letters from Santa Claus](https://www.deutschepost.de/de/w/weihnachtspost/weihnachtsmann-christkind.html) initiative from Deutsche Post and I feel that this would be a wonderful activity for my nephews and nieces. I have a few questions regarding this.

While sending a letter from within Germany and getting a reply is pretty straightforward, I would also like some of my nephews and nieces staying in other countries to get these letters.

Details in some of the addresses mentioned ( for eg : Himmelpfort ) mention that they recieve letters from other countries and these letters get answered in different languages too ! This is so nice !!

My question is, specifically related to letters sent to Weihnachtsmann, Christkind and Nikolaus from outside Germany.

1. Do we need to send a self addressed postage paid envelope with the letter for the Weihnachtsmann to reply?
2. What if I want to send greeting cards with the beautiful postage cancellation stamp of these special post offices? Should I include a note requesting the same?

Good folks of r/germany please help me out. Thanks !

  1. The one in [Himmelstadt](https://www.deutschepost.de/de/w/weihnachtspost/weihnachtsmann-christkind/himmelstadt.html) doesn’t require a paid envelope. You’ll get a reply to your letters without paying for it.
According to the Website you only get a special seal if you put your letter into the postbox near the post office. Maybe you can contact them if there are other options.
You find [several addresses](https://www.deutschepost.de/de/w/weihnachtspost/weihnachtsmann-christkind.html) at this page, too.
