I just passed by this structure in München and was wondering what is it supposed to be? It looks like an empty flower vase sculpture to me idk

  1. Wrap it in a bit of concrete and it’s a functional cooling tower. This is pretty much how they are made.

Without the concrete it apparently passes as art

  2. doesn’t look very pretty but i blame that on the cars and street and surrounding buildings. The thing it has really going for it is the tram traveling through it as seen on the Wikipedia page someone else posted.

  3. It is called the Effnermonument on the Effnerplatz. You can google the rest 🙂

  4. Mae West, apparently. In other words: modern art.

  5. Ein Rotationshyperboloid.

In Munich a Statue mae west

It is also a pokestop 😇

  6. A big vase for flowers for giants. Some Germans are really tall.

  7. It’s called Art. To be more precise, it’s called a sculpture

  8. Art in construction. In Germany, a certain percentage of the budget for public construction projects must be invested in art.

  9. It is a German playground where kids can learn taking responsibility for their safety in the face of lethal risks.

  10. It’s a public art work, Mae West by Rita McBride. In my opinion one of the best public contemporary artworks ever made.

  11. That appears to be a monument or shrine of some sort placed by aliens several thousand years ago… Archeologists still aren’t sure yet

  12. I convinced this is the base for a giant statue of Franz Beckenbauer.

  13. “Kunst kommt von Können, denn käme es von Wollen, hieße es Wunst”
So I’m pretty sure this is Wunst.
