Principal opposition candidate is against elections.
Elections after russia has been defeated.
Not before.
So Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine starts off by spewing Russian propaganda lines about the need for elections in Ukraine.
In interests of peace maybe the next step should be a different leader, someone who Putin can negotiate with. How about Trump just tells Putin to appoint the Ukrainian leadership alltogether so they can negotiate a true, lasting peace.
Might be a peace of the grave for millions of ukrainians, but at least Trump gets to go golfing a bit more now thats off his desk

I wouldn’t call Poroschenko Zelensky’s main rival. Both Tymoshenko and Zaluzhnyi appear to have a lot more support.

It’s best to do the opposite of what Trump says. His goals are not aligned with the rest of the free world.
Corrupt as he is, things would’ve been a lot different after the invation, should he have continued to be in power. The current clown played politricks and convinced people, that there was no war coming. Hats off to this guy, because the current president is a total corrupt monkey.
