On January 30th a team of volunteers evacuating civilians out of Pokrovsk was hit by a Russian drone for the second time in two months and this time one of the volunteers was heavily injured. Eddy, a British medic known as @ukrn_eddy on Instagram, lost an arm and a leg from the blast.

  1. « Unfortunately this is not a flashback of the drone strike that hit us two months ago – we’ve been hit again, but to our second identical (and final) armored car.

    This time striking our team directly while evacuating two people from Pokrovsk. We weren’t as lucky this time and our volunteer @ukrn_eddy took the majority of the blow.

    He suffered severe injuries resulting in the amputation of his left arm and leg, and is only alive due to the brilliant efforts of our teammate @fillchristmas who followed protocols and gave lifesaving care under extreme pressure. Two evacuees also sustained minor shrapnel injuries. Russian forces target humanitarians and civilians.

    We see this every day in Pokrovsk.

    We will continue to support Eddy and Pylyp through this hard time. »

  13. I stayed with Eddy last October while I was out filming different units. He always had a hot meal ready for me when I returned after he had been out risking his life all day long for others for free. One of the world’s kindest people. If you can help, please do
