HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A Huntington nonprofit is in need of some help to stay afloat.
The Wild Ramp market owners say due to an executive order, the federal funding they rely on was paused. Though this order has been lifted, they need community help.
“There was an executive order to pause federal funding and that was rescinded, but our funds are still currently not accessible to us,” said Market Director, Rebecca Gray. “There’s not a lot of information surrounding why, we don’t have a definitive time line, and because we don’t know for certain when that is, we’re really taking steps to decrease our costs to make sure we’re not out spending.”
With the gap in funding, Gray said there are a couple issues they are most worried about.
“Our main concerns right now are just our operating costs which a lot of things go into that, our utilities, insurance, our payroll. all of this can be affected by this loss of funding and those are very essential to keeping our store front open. Long term, worst case scenario, we may see a temporary closure of the store so it is important that we see funds coming in so that we’re able to cover those costs and to stay open as much as possible,” Gray said.

They also said shopping at the store or sponsoring an event coming up in April can really help out.
