In 2023, the goods and services trade between the two countries totaled $923 billion. U.S. exports were $441 billion, while imports were $482 billion, resulting in a United States $41 billion trade deficit with Canada.
However when you put in per capita terms, Canada imported $11,000 per person while the US imported $1.439 per person. So looked at that way it’s the US that’s being the cheapskate.
Don’t forget Bill Clinton. He created NAFTA in the first place and sent millions of jobs in the rust belt overseas..
The fukn moran who else would do that.
Unfortunately, average Americans will suffer so billionaires can have their ego stroked.

Donald Trump literally renegotiated the North American Free Trade Agreements, (NAFTA), in 2018, while President, and now he’s whining about it!

Crappy graphics, but this cartoon makes an excellent point. The MAGA cult doesn’t seem to realize that Trump is the one who negotiated the trade deal that he now thinks is unfair.
Trump will NEVER claim responsibility for anything. He’s said as much.
When the shit really hits the fan he has one failsafe excuse to use: Don’t blame me, blame the people who voted for me.

Maybe America should just build more things that people actually want. Trump has been moaning that the EU doesn’t buy enough American cars but they insist on building enormous Yank Tanks that won’t fit on European roads.
