Ukraine has been invaded by Russian forces under Putin’s command. Even now Ukrainian cities are under bombardment and military units are pouring into the country. Yet this war takes place as much is our minds as it does on the ground. The truth is being withheld from Russian public by state-controlled media and censorship of internet and social media. With this petition we call upon Apple and Google – producers of the two leading mobile operating systems – to use their capabilities to start providing our fellow brothers and sisters in Russia with reliable information. Nearly everyone has a smartphone with an OS made be either of these companies and it is within their capabilities to push notifications / updates to these devices, avoiding state censorship. Even when the Russian nation is being lied to, protests are sprouting throughout the country to oppose an ambition of one small man that is costing thousands of lives. Let the truth be heard and the Russians wake up – they have the right to know. The world is coming together against Putin so let us push the leaders in tech industry to stand on the right side of history. If the Anonymous can do it so can you.

There **is** no reliable information in an ongoing war. If anyone tells you something as a fact without hard evidence, they’re either not thinking straight due to emotions, or deliberately manipulating you.
There are three actors in this war: west Ukrainians, east Ukrainians and Russians. Every side tries to not announce events that put them in bad light, and highlight events that are beneficial to them. For example, UA and EU only report how they are helping refugees, not how RU helps them. RU only reports how RU is helping people, not how UA/EU help people too.
Also, both sides lie. Zelensky lied about the Snake Island. Putin lied about freeing Ukraine from Nazis.
Don’t fall into the trap of automatically assuming that everything RU says or does is a lie or bad. Or everything that UA says and does is truth and good. It’s a mix of both. Russia is guilty of the invasion, but west Ukrainians are guilty of killing east Ukrainians for 8 years.
