As people are displaced in the United States, they will seek housing elsewhere in what is perceived to be relatively more climate resilient areas. The numbers of internal climate migrants shopping for housing in those areas will grow much faster than the available housing, so simple supply and demand economics will skyrocket the value of other homes far beyond what we have seen so far
Many places are likely to become unliveable for all sorts of reasons, the insurance is going to be at the top of the list.
Maybe we should be more worried about what that value actually represents- resources, something that is increasingly in short supply. Frame everything through the lens of money and politics and people will never understand the whole truth of the predicament we’re in
The [actual report PDF](https://assets.riskfactor.com/media/The%2012th%20National%20Risk%20Assessment.pdf). Alas lots of the charts are not high enough resolution to pinpoint specific locations.
Definitely want a queryable GIS interface.
… which apparently they have at https://firststreet.org/ top banner, but the value-added info is locked away to subscribers. Fair enough.
