Would be handy to have a description of the men.
Shouldn’t that be reported to police instead of social media?????
Hope the police been told, my niece works there, will pass on
This has been passed on to the police, and it’s been happening for a while, on and off, according to my friend who’s at uni there and works in one of the restaurants along the beachfront.
Should this not be asking MEN to avoid going to the beach so women can go there safely? Always the women who have to change or restrict what they do because of men.
augh fine, I’ll stop…
I’m a guy and I’ve went running down their in the dark a few times. I’ll probably just avoid going their at night now
A lot of tiptoeing around some key information here. I for one wouldn’t encourage any females to be down near the beach alone on an evening.
Women have been afraid for years. This isn’t anything new.
There’s a man in jogging gear and he chased me up to the top of the beach then when I turned he did and chased me all the way down again!
Well it’s no longer on their

I don’t understand why the police no longer conduct sting operations à la the undercover operation that caught the Clifton Rapist.
If there are multiple reports of this happening then surely it couldn’t be difficult to have a plainsclothed female officer patrol the area with a number of other plainsclothed officers surveiling them, wait for your perp to attempt to assault them and get them bang to rights?
Why are Scottish women being forced to rely on public notices from university groups to maintain their safety in public spaces?
So because men at the beach are treating women like prey, it’s women that have to leave the beach?!
How have we normalised this de facto restriction on women’s movements and BASIC activities like a peaceful stroll on the beach? When it is MEN that are causing the problem?! Why don’t we tell all men to avoid the beach??? Then women can walk safely without threat of violence?
Obv I understand why they’re advising women to do this, but it’s just endlessly frustrating that even in a ‘progressive’ country in 2025, we allow dangerous men to control women’s freedoms. A walk on the beach shouldn’t put a girl’s life at risk in Scotland. I’m so fed up.
