Tesla’s sales drop double digits in the US’ biggest EV market, while others are growing. California is the biggest market for EVs in the US by a wide margin. Tesla saw its deliveries go down 11.6% with almost 27,000 fewer EVs delivered. The California EV market (excluding Tesla) grew 20% in 2024.

  5. Up to Jan 20 I argue against people not buying Tesla because of Musk since Tesla has at least a 5 year lead on all other EV manufacturers and others were just as bad or worse. . . But shit, after that goddamn salute. . . Yeah, unless they oust Musk by the time I’m ready to get a new car I’m looking at something else.

  7. When the $7,500 incentive goes away, this may sway some of the the market back toward Telsa. I bought an Equinox EV in December, and the $7,500 off the MSRP made the choice for me even if I had no interest in giving Elmo any of my money.

    Musk’s naked effort in becoming an oligarch means I will never spend $1 with Tesla or any of the Musk companies if I can avoid it.

  8. I am getting rid of my paid off Tesla due to this shit even though I know it makes no difference at this point. And I’m a cheap ass political moderate. Just say no to Nazi’s.

  9. While there is a lot of extra noise going on due to Elon being, well, Elon, I just don’t like Tesla vehicles. They have some promising technology and features that kind of work but aren’t ready for prime time, I still find the cabins barren, seats uncomfortable and weird configuration on a bunch of dash stuff. And there are simply better options out there from people that aren’t trying to push “We’re a software company.”

    There are more hyundais, cadillacs and other EVs in my condo parking lot than teslas now…

  13. Yep just bought a used EV in November and given Musks megalomaniac tendencies and the issues I’ve heard about the cars. I didn’t buy a Tesla. I’m seeing lots of Rivians where I live.

    I just read a report avoid how it used to be #1 in Norway and is now down big because of politics.

    Throw in Canada to the mix and the rest of the EU.

    China will be Teslas only hope.

  15. None of this matters at this point.  Musk could lose 99% of his wealth and still be worth several BILLION dollars.  

  16. Wait till you see the numbers on all those Canadian built vehicles on GM, Ford & quite a few others. Tesla is pretty much the only vehicle actually made in the US and the pro-China segment of Reddit can’t wait to dance on their graves. 🇨🇳 Don’t worry though I’m sure Trump is gonna fix everything. Fox News told me so.

  17. Musk only owns like 12% and is voted in a CEO. The problem is that he personally owns a lot of the dealerships. It’s gotta hurt more for the investors to divest themselves of musk.
