(P&GJ) — Argent LNG has selected Baker Hughes to provide liquefaction and power generation technology for its proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The project aims to produce 24 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG.
Baker Hughes will supply its NMBL™ modular LNG system, featuring the LM9000 gas turbine, along with gas compression and power generation equipment. The company will also provide multi-year services, including iCenter™ digital solutions powered by Cordant™, to optimize operations.
“Today’s announcement is a further testament to the technology capabilities that we have built over the past 30-plus years in LNG,” said Lorenzo Simonelli, chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes. “This collaboration with Argent LNG underscores our commitment to delivering advanced, best-in-class LNG solutions.”
Argent LNG’s chairman and CEO, Jonathan Bass, cited Baker Hughes’ technology and market presence as key factors in the selection. “This collaboration underscores Argent LNG’s commitment to technical excellence, cost-effective execution, and energy security,” Bass said.
Phase 1 construction is expected to begin in 2026, with commercial operations starting by 2030. Phase 2, which aims to expand capacity, is advancing through regulatory approvals and financial milestones.
Baker Hughes expects additional orders as the project moves toward a Final Investment Decision.
