Hi I recently bought a watch from www.moddify.no they charged me a bit over 3000 kr. I know it was dumb but the watches look nice. Well I bought it back in October. Didn’t receive it until December. Then when it came it was broken I sent a video showing it was broken. They are refusing to let me return it even though on their page it states a 3 year guarantee. I’m kinda wondering am I just shit out of luck or is there anything I can do about this?

  1. ~~When I visit the website you added in your post I enter a Vietnamese food website~~

~~So yes, you have been scammed~~

You can contact your bank/credit card company if they might help you.

  2. ~~Looks like the site you linked to no longer exists, it now shows sandwiches. So yes, I would assume you were scammed.~~

I would contact the bank, hope you used a credit card.

Give them everything you have on it, including communication with the seller.
But you should never wait this long with such problems, the longer you wait, the harder it is to resolve it.

  3. Already feels a bit suspect. Trying to click their social media icons links back to their main page. The promo video and watches are all low quality pictures.

Also, if you’re a native speaker and read this text without suspecting something is fishy, then I think you’re in a minority. It’s poorly written and contains multiple form and spelling mistakes.

Any refund policy that starts off by trying to weasel out of the law on technicalities should get the alarm bells calling. Compare this to the refund policy on most legit websites, which just take verbatim exerpts from the law as policy.

It’s a very legit looking page, but which have no social media presence like what any true brand or storefront trying to build a brand would have. The next time, check trustpilot:

My guess is that this is a mostly automated store, probably a drop-shipper, who operates several storefronts in bulk. Extremely dubious quality. I mean, just check the amount of people registered on the adress the company put as their company adress

  4. If the website lists a Norwegian company register at Brønnøysundregisteret you should contact forbrukerrådet. If not, contact the bank and possibly the police

  5. I recommend you to join the Facebook group Klokkeriet and ask for advice there.
