BAFTA Film Awards – Sunday 16 February
The British Academy Film Awards is a glittering annual event that celebrates the best British and international contributions to film, with 42 films receiving nominations. This year, the ten films with the most nominations are: Conclave, Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, Anora, Dune: Part Two, Wicked, A Complete Unknown, Kneecap, Nosferatu, and The Substance. Jane Millichip, CEO of BAFTA, says, “The 42 films nominated today span a fantastically broad spectrum of genres with enormous breadth in creative expression; from the most intimate character pieces to epic societal commentaries via genre-bending dramas, musicals and comedies. The film industry has delivered in spades once again.” The winners will be announced on Sunday 16 February on BBC One and iPlayer and @BAFTA.

Festen, The Royal Opera – Tuesday 11 February – Thursday 27 February
Contemporary composer Mark-Anthony Turnage has collaborated with Olivier Award-winning director Richard Jones in the world premiere of Festen, which will run on the Main Stage of the Royal Opera House. Here, Turnage, along with librettist Lee Hall (of Billy Elliot), has adapted Oscar-winning filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg’s ’90s film of the same name into a new opera that details an explosive family celebration.

Guinness Men’s Six Nations – Friday 31 January – Saturday 15 March

Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall – Monday 24 March – Sunday 31 March
The concert series that raises funds for young people with cancer returns for 2025. Expect a lineup including Micky Flanagan, GK Barry, The Who, Micky Flanagan, The Corrs, Micky Flanagan, Frank Carter, and the Sex Pistols. Tickets go on sale on the morning of Friday, 31 January.

For the month of April, expect a mix of music, spoken word, theatre, visual arts, podcasts, and club nights—with each event amplifying the voices of artists.
Multitudes – Wednesday 23 April – Saturday 3 May
There’s a multi-artform festival to come to the Southbank Centre in the form of Multitudes, and it’ll showcase creative experiences from world-class orchestras, artists, and award-winning performers. Taking place across all of Southbank Centre’s venues from the Royal Festival to the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Hayward Gallery, the whole site will be transformed into a cultural playground, appealing to the arts enthusiasts.
