  6. When you’ve a few grands worth of kit stolen and bill and Ben’s police force don’t do anything. It’s like all the people just walking into shops stealing the whole shelf and bill, and Ben doesn’t do anything business owners are going to get pissed off.

  11. Most of us are feeling the pain of the complete impunity that thieves and other criminals operate in within the UK, I don’t get why it’s become politicized.

    Police need better funding, we need tougher sentences for criminals and we need to stand by them instead of throwing them under the bus every time identity politics are involved.

    Lets give police the benefit of the doubt instead of siding with criminals.

  13. Oh, I wish I knew about it before, would have joined.

    Motorcycle and bicycle theft are the same: police will not arrive at all, and when you submit an online report, they just close it as “we have no resources, have fun on your own”.

    I had a friend, who got a motorcycle stolen. He found it on the other side of a town in a forest, seen them actual thieves, who has seen him too. All this time with the police on the line. Spent 3h waiting for the police in the forest alone, nobody arrived. Fucking hell.

    We should really put some budget into that. The situation is getting horribly worse and worse.

    Once saw a tradie sell a mother load of bricks, of questionable origin, to his site supervisor.

    It’s no wonder we have a housing shortage.

  26. Happened to mates of mine who are tree surgeons, someone took an angle grinder to their lockup and stole all their chainsaws and chipper, absolutely ruined them. Its terrible to take away people’s ability to work, I think it should be a more serious category of crime if its the tools of someone’s trade

  27. Maybe the tool manufacturers can build in a switch chip that needs a Bluetooth code to operate / unlock the equipment.

    At least for more expensive tools.

    Build it so that it is hard to remove.

    A bit more expensive but saves later on.

  35. I recognise that helmeted skull logo. It’s Velocity Progear, a British manufacturer of (pretty damn good) tool bags. The tank is very on brand.
