Trump is transactional this could be a good deal for both parties, Ukraine could grant them rights for lets say 10 years with the understanding that as much possible labour would be local and at the end of those 10 years Ukraine would have the first option to take it over with already working and fine tuned infrastructure and expertise.

    Could go badly if Putin offers Trump such a deal.

  10. I’m in BC, Canada. After they put tariffs on us this weekend, we’re taking steps to not export our rare minerals to the US. We will however keep the electricity on that we export. This could be why DT is targeting Ukraine.

  21. I’ve seen so many articles claiming this region or that will own the rare earth metals market. I think they are finding quite a few global options globally. It’s good to use this to come up with a way to repay the US and generate income for Ukraine but I think there will be a lot of areas that ultimately mine these.

    If I’m not mistaken, a lot of the areas where these materials are are currently under Russian occupation. If Trump struck a deal with Ukraine on those materials, he could leverage that with Russia…

    “Hey, give us an even better deal on the metals than the deal we already have with Ukraine, or we’re helping Ukraine take that land back”…

  28. I know Trump is a scumbag but how do my Ukrainian brothers feel about this? Most rare earth is in the Donbass right? This gives Trump an incentive to liberate it. And to defend it for a long time.
