Yooo, this is not supposed to be a bait, I just found this video to be an interesting deconstruction of words in both alphabets and it essentially says “no”.

No, it’s not Cyrylic from miniature states WRIESZCZ and it’s very different from this how it sound in polish
Ukrainian there. Our language is similar to Polish, but uses Cyrillic. Yes, it’s shorter in writing. But. Cyrillic letters make anything written in Ukrainian absolutely unreadable for people from the most of the world. Even Asian people, who travelling or involved in something international, always knew Latin letters. So, Cyrillic creates strong wall between country and the world. But makes all transparent for russians. My advice to Poles: NEVER transfer to Cyrillic.
Actually even this screen proves otherwise:
– No special characters for pairs like ś/sz, ć/cz
– Here r used for rz mistakenly. There is a “ż” in Cyrillic but no rz equivalent. You may say it sounds the same, but using only one
you’re losing all historical/language context of words.
On the top of that – no equivalents of ą, ę
You would need to modify cyrillic to suit Polish the same way as Latin was modified – so absolutely no reason.
Cyrillic has no sense at all here, since our language comes from west-slavic family and has been shaped by Latin culture for over a thousand years. You can’t even map our language 100% to Cyrillic so what we’re talking about…
