So somewhere around April, I will be taking the 'Bergensbanen' line and I am beyond excited! I will be taking a very early ride, looking for tickets of the train leaving around 6~7 'o clock in the morning. I am looking to buy tickets via vy.no, and willing to pay premium seats in carriage 1 for extra space and comfort. I have two questions though.. which side is the best to sit at? I'll be travelling from Oslo to Bergen. Some people say left is the 'right' option while other say that the right side offer the most beautiful view. The other question, though maybe obvious but trying to make sure, judging from the picture I guess the green markers on the side of the trains are walls (NOT windows), right?

Sit on the left, I reckon. Definitely better for the high point (Finse), where you should be able to spot two or three tongues of the glacier.
Sit on a seat by the window facing forward on the left side
On the left side (in the direction of train movement) – the views between Geilo and Myrdal are absolutely breathtaking and I take a lot of photos every time. But after Myrdal the views are better on the right side, I think, although that remaining part is shorter.
Just a detail though – be prepared that the views are gorgeous, indeed, but there’s also a looot of tunnels. And there’s barely any internet reception between train stops.
There are windows all over the train. It isnt like police are watching you sit in your spot…. ……
Yes the green lines are walls
Definitely left side. But not seat 23,24 or 27,28 as you will have to share legroom.
And yes, the green spots are walls
