4. I have no idea if Letby is innocent but this does remind me of the recent “shaken baby syndrome” controversy. A number of parents in the US were convicted of causing the death of their child through shaking them, many of their convictions have now been overturned as the evidence for the syndrome is called into question.

8. Private Eye was right. Again. The expert evidence was bullshit. I hope she gets a big fat payout.

It’s becoming glaringly apparent that this has been shocking miscarriage of justice; but unfortunately, seeing as our PM is a former DPP whose career was defined by licking the boots of the establishment while doffing his cap to his superiors/stomping on inferiors, there is zero prospect of a review any time soon because to do so would be to embarrass too many high placed individuals. Therefore, this poor woman will be left to rot in prison for decades for a crime she didn’t commit because the state cannot be seen to admit to making a mistake even when we all know that it did.

10. Just look at Nottingham QMC Maternity unit, this week they suddenly found some missing files regarding birth deaths that they said didn’t exist. Cover ups are in all hospital dept court cases.

11. After seeing her notebooks with all the twisted things. That screamed killer to me

12. Imagine being the doctor who cheated on his wife with her. I bet that took some explaining; “i love you but I cheated on you by shagging the country’s biggest child murderer. Will you ever forgive me?”

13. Absolutely no one (Excepting actual jurors in the case) here can comment whether she is innocent or guilty.

    No one sat in the court and heard all the evidence in the correct legal manner. The jury did and found her guilty.

    Babies WERE murdered with large doses of insulin in some cases.

    It’s not a case of medical incompetence.

    Whether she is guilty or not isn’t something any of us can answer.

    That was the job of the jury and they found her guilty of most of the charges.

    And she is still under investigation for other offences and may face more charges.

    If she has grounds for a legal challenge then her lawyers will facilitate that.

    Just remember innocent until found guilty. And she has been found guilty. Now she is guilty until proved innocent.

14. Convinced me there’s worth in re-opening it. Hardly a surprise the NHS is shit and deflects blame.

15. It’s crazy how much people are pushing this

    There was mountains upon mountains of evidence.

    A few experts now questioning it does not change anything.

16. Why does no one remember her diaries where she wrote repeatedly that she killed them and that she was evil. Either she killed them or thought she did and did nothing about it.

17. Does it explain the other instances when babies were found with high levels of insulin? They cast doubts but couldn’t explain why c-peptides were raised.
    Cases should be scrutinised but this media publicity hype train needs to stop. Every month there’s an expert claiming babies died of xyz which then gets proven to be wrong. 

18. I said it last time this came up and got downvoted – she is going to end up getting away with this on technicalities. It’s going to be one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in history and people will be cheering.

19. They’re using the words ‘expert panel’ like it’s an independent committee, when it’s actually a group of people being paid by her legal team to prepare her appeal. There is no new evidence against her conviction.
