    I am sorry my American friends, but I have to ask you to take one for the team here. Please let Donald Trump and Elon Musk enact as much of their policies as quickly as possible, so that everyone can see just how bad an idea it is to elect these sort of people before election day.

    I am sure Elon is working had, but if you could refrain from trying to stop him from destroying the US economy until after the 24th that would be very much appreciated.

  3. I advise caution with this headline: we only have had two polls since their “surprise ~~alliance~~ common vote” with the far-right AfD last Wednesday, and both of those were run on periods *just after* that fact.

    One of those shows a decrease of -2% (from 30% to 28%), the other one shows the CDU/CSU as stable at 30%. It might be the case that they lost some, but we need more data points and more time for the possible tendencies to crystallise before getting to any actual conclusions.

  6. It’s a measly 2%. That’s within margin of error. And it’s just a single poll. Definitely not worth this kind of headline. Considering what they have done, they should lose at least half their votes, if you ask me….

    Maybe Trump destroying American democracy will be the wake-up call the rest of the world needs to see how far these conservatives want to go.

  32. The Dutch conservatives lost tremendously after opening the door to the far right. It gave the far right prestige it never had and it gave the more right wing conservative the excuse they needed to abandon the moderate right. Dispite the incredible shit show of having them in power the far right has continues to thrive ever since.

    Germans are stupid not to learn from what happened right next door.

  33. Don’t let polls fool you. Look what is happening in the US. We thought for sure Trump was done, but he obliterated Harris in the election. Keep fighting!
