"We are open to the fact that minerals can be developed with our partners who help us protect our land and push the enemy back with their weapons, their presence, sanctions packages."

  1. One of the reason why Ruzzia want to take over Ukraine, because of this rare material

  2. And just like that, Zelensky can negotiate from a position of strength.

  3. Zelensky makes the deal. Gets 100 dollars. gives one dollar in exchange. Other guy crows about his genius. Ukraine smiles.

  4. The plan that Biden began and Zelensky agreed to that Trump will now take credit for.

  5. I hate that Zelensky has to do shit like this, but I get it. He’s doing what he has to for his people.

  6. He knows what he is doing.

Trump just played his whole hand for the world to see and now he might just get out maneuvered. I wonder if there are any other partners that would like to get in on this?

  7. I hope it just isn’t a deal Trump wants as “backpay”. Biden and the US gave you this much so we want that in return plus more to even continue.

    We’ll see.

  8. He is dangling the carrot to the US. If Ukraine loses, it ALL goes to the Russians

  9. Not an ideal situation for Ukraine, yet if it can help Ukraine kick out the porky orkies 🐖 then so be it. 👍🇺🇦

  10. After Canada and Mexico it’s time for Ukraine to make Trump dance for his cult.

  11. You need to take back Donbas for the minerals , is trump really in it for the total Ukrainian win?

  12. No, let’s mine Ruzzia instead! The orcs gotta be cleared out first, and then you can access the Mines of Moria over there.

  13. What are the minerals out of interest?
Is it something that would interest Elon Muzk?

  14. Its a Trump card. A shitty Trump card, but a Trump card. This is all about survival, and Zelensky and Ukraine probably view those previous materials as “gone” anyways. Difference is, United States harvesting them, Ukraine survives as a nation. WIth RUssia, it does not.

  15. Tell Trump the minerals are in the provinces of the DNR and LNR.

  16. Honestly I like this idea. If USA comes in and begins extraction of mineral, that will create many jobs in Ukraine, boost it’s economy AND that will force USA to be a security guaranteer.

  17. Go Zelenskyy go, play Trump like a violin. I love this! 😂 Putin’s freaking out and can’t do anything about it

  18. Take the equipment a d renig on the deal. That’s what Trump would do if the situation was reversed

  19. Aaaaaand I was waiting for it.

One of the main reasons, to me, that Putin wanted Ukraine was because of the rare materials that can be mined out of Ukraine. Especially after it was shown that the world can function without Russian Oil, they need another angle to gain power globally.

I also thought that the reason that the US was throwing so much money in aid to Ukraine was for EXACTLY this reason. I knew that the exotic resources would eventually be on the table…

  20. Not a horrible deal. Let the US get a cut of extracted minerals but they have to remove Russia from Ukranian land first.

Then in 4 years when a president with empathy is elected, they can let Ukraine keep the minerals. (Assuming there will be an election in 4 years)

  21. Ukraine’s minerals belong to Ukraine.  No-one else.

However …..  if USA, NATO, etc are prepared to demand AND get the 1991 borders back – including Crimea – well then  ….   I still think that Ukraine’s minerals belong to Ukraine!!!!

  22. The bestest sites to mine rare earth metals, minerals, diamonds, gas, oil, and unleaded 97 octane petrol are in Crimea, Donbas and the Black Sea coast!!

  23. Ukraine will probably at least keep 25 percent profit, and US 75% versus russsssia has access to all the rare minerals plus 💯 profit and all eastern ukraine.

  24. A rotten compromise, but the oly one we’ve got. Tell them you’ll play ball… by the time any deal is signed this administration may be gone.

  25. Trump being the manbaby he is, would not agree to this if the deal was done with Biden.

But with him taking the glory of it, things might actually happen. Fuck me I hate this tho.

  26. Actually at first, I hated this idea. However Zelensky might be playing 3D chess here. You get the USA more invested and involved with this deal (additionally snubbing Russia and their insane thought they get any say over the matter) Russia attacking a potential US Mining site or something would be suicide for Russia.

I don’t know this could be a master stroke by Zelensky. Plus additionally there could be more potential for Ukraine and USA to continue to build a more deepening relationship. This all could be for show, but I don’t hate the idea, just need to see how it would play out.

  27. would be pretty neato for the USA to set up a mining operation that just happens to be protected by USA air defense and no fly zone that extends well beyond the mining operating

  28. If the deal is USA gives enough weapons to take back all territories so they get access to the minerals, that would be a win win deal of a lifetime.

  29. Nobody should be surprised that Trump is negotiating. This is what we expect of him. Zelensky is negotiating in return.

Trump opened with basically “free rare earth minerals until full recompense” in return for support. That’s a lowball opener and is straight out of his book.

Zelensky can now counter with things like exclusivity, bulk discounts, contracts for US companies (owned by US oligarchs/Trump buddies).

While I would prefer that Trump simply continue giving aid to Ukraine for the benefit of European stability and Russia’s demilitarization, I can accept the notion of some kind of trade agreement.

  30. I think a lot of people are kind seeing this as him bending the knee so he can get help for Ukraine, wich in part he is, but his wording alone is telling you he isnt giving anything for free. They get help and in return, USA (or others) can help them to extract and get some of it, in exchange for money, resources, etc

Shows how smart and how of a good leader he is. Shame the rest of the world cant be like him.

  31. It would be great to have americans on Ukraine soil. One stray Russian missile could make a big difference.

  32. Zelensky is walking a very thin diplomatic line with great grace under pressure. I get the sense that Trump is looking for a reason to abandon Ukraine to Putin and he’s not giving him one.
