1. President Donald Trump signed an executive order to impose maximum pressure on Iran: “This is one that I’m torn about…It’s very tough on Iran…I’m going to sign it, but hopefully we’re not going to use it very much…we have to be strong and firm…Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”

   Reporters asked Trump if he would support or assist in an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Trump replied that he would not discuss it with reporters and that the Iranian issue was part of the topics that would be raised in a conversation with Netanyahu

5. This pretty much changes nothing, since Biden had never lifted the maximum pressure sanctions imposed by Trump I. He floated the idea early in his term to maybe restart negociations on the JCPOA, but well, that ship had sailed. Even more after Oct. 7th.
