  1. The US Army Corps of Engineers opened two dams on Friday in Central California and let roughly 2.2 billion gallons of water flow out of reservoirs, after President Donald Trump ordered the release with the misguided intent to send water to fire-ravaged Southern California.

    Trump celebrated the move in posts to Truth Social post on Friday and Sunday, declaring, “the water is flowing in California,” and adding the water was “heading to farmers throughout the State, and to Los Angeles.”

    “They were holding extra water in those reservoirs because of the risk that it would be a dry summer,” said Heather Cooley, director of research for California water policy organization the Pacific Institute. “This puts agriculture at risk of insufficient water during the summer months.”

  5. As a result of this, farmers in central CA may not have water when they need it most this summer. This could majorly backfire, if he doesn’t first brainwash them all to hate Newsom even more than they already do.

  8. What’s with the US political system? Is the President an Emperor that can order whatever he likes? Is he Louis XVI that rules the country from the White House, a modern-day Versailles ? 

  9. President Dumpf is going to leave west coast cities and towns with no water. Because they vote blue.

  10. How is it possible for trump to give such order? No matter how much he or his followers would like, he most likely have no knowledge in water reservoirs and the consequences of such a decision could be rather dangerous?

  16. “Misguided intent” is wilfully ignoring his intentions and his history.

    He knows this is an actively harmful decision. He knows the fires had largely run their course and done the damage already.

    He also knows that his base will believe anything he says regardless of how dumb it is, and can always control the narrative with enough social media posts.

    He’s hurting people he doesn’t like while also planting the seeds for the next gambit. His game plan is to make California (and much of the US) suffer come summertime, when supermarket shelves are lying empty and fires are raging again. All so he can point to them again and say “Californians got all this help and still mismanaged the water. It’s their fault we don’t have enough crops and we need to dismantle the woke left establishment there”

    And half the country will eat it up, just like they have time and time again.

  18. One aim that I imagine is that there’s not enough water come summer time and Canada can “justifiably” be invaded.
