  1. How can you be 68 and renting. Houses will have been plentiful and mortgages affordable when she started out.

Renting is always a gamble, you’re living in someone else’s home.

Feel sorry for everyone who has no choice but to rent these days, but my god at least they have an excuse.

  2. 68 and relying solely on the state pension. I feel sorry for this lady, as I do with anyone who finds themselves in these circumstances, but to think you can stay renting a flat for £430 a month is unfortunately not the reality of the modern day.

  3. Plenty of hotels in Kent just pretend you don’t speak English and save a few quid up

  4. I wonder if she’s tried cancelling her subscriptions, eating less avocado toast and not being such a whiny snowflake expecting the state to solve all her problems?

  5. My neighbor is a tradesman, he got a two bedroom for his wife and two daughters but claims he lives with his parents, so Wandsworth council can pay her flat and eventually give this 21 year old mother a council home.

In the mean time he clocks £5000 a a month at least installing new windows for homes.

  6. Ah the entrepreneurial landlord. So benevolent until they can sniff higher rent to be had – or the expense of housing vulnerable people who may require modifications to the house.

We are no way ready for the demographic timebomb that is about to go off.

  7. I am the same sfe as this lady I hope to goodness if I ever found myself homeless my kids or grandkids would help me out !

  8. In Japan the oldies would commit a crime and enjoy the free stay in prison.

  9. UK always follows American trends. Van life and tents next to the road. What next?
