Former NATO chief Stoltenberg discusses how Europe will attempt to move forward as Trump pursues “America First” Policy regarding NATO’s open door policy, how Ukraine/Russia conflict could be resolved and the ramifications that will be felt if trade is hampered by tariffs.
Is there anyway European members of NATO could put their foot down with Trump and tell him if he wants to impose tariffs they could do something like prevent US military bases from being in their countries or fire back with their own tariffs? Does Europe need US military support to protect them from Russia or has Russia become depleted enough to where US is not vital and therefore Trump’s attempt to call the shots can be dismissed? Does US need NATO as much as Europe needs NATO right now, or is US have the the upper hand/power in the organization?
