‘Heinous’ Putin must face Nuremberg-style war crimes tribunal, demands Gordon Brown

  1. There is a part of me hoping that someone in the Russian hierarchy decides that Putin is out of control and actually decides to eliminate him. A boy can dream.
It would have to come from the military I guess as his inner circle seem to be in awe and fear of him.

  2. He should. But how is anyone planning to arrest him? He just won’t leave Russia. And even if he does then any attempt to arrest him would be seen as an act of war.

  3. I look forward to the myopic Ninja slipping into Russia and returning with his man.

    Insertion in 3…2…1…

  4. They love wheeling out these irrelevant failures of politicians for their boring takes. I don’t care about Gordon Brown’s opinion on anything.

  5. Fed up with politicians threatening Putin with war crimes, do they really believe Putin gives a fk?

  6. sounds about as likely as his mate Blair facing a trial. He’s one to talk, he was in high office when Iraq was invaded using the same phoney pretext method Putin used.

  7. Was Gordon Brown the sidekick of Tony Blair during the Second Gulf War? Is Gordon suggesting that he should face a NUremburg-style war crimes tribunal, too?

As far as I can tell, the justification for the Second Guld War – “Weapons of Mass Destruction” – was a big fat lie, designed to scare the public into supporting an illegal invasion of a far away land, which resulted in a horrific number of deaths. —- Oh wait a moment, I forgot a key point —- most of the deaths were brown people. So, the media does not care so much

  8. Putin was high on victories. He led an army of Facebook, poorly informed idiots (because that’s what they are) into voting for brexit and trump, without a single bullet being fired. After that simple victory he believed he could manipulate public options whenever and wherever he wanted. And when it was Putin’s day off, Murdoch took over.

  9. Nuremberg trials were a farce anyway. A court follows the rule of law and there weren’t laws they broke. Retroactively creating and applying laws post war is not justice.

Doesn’t matter GB is in not position to be saying this. Have some self awareness.

  10. Putin will keep pushing and pushing until Nato join in so he can use his nukes. He won’t care if half the country hates him, didn’t stop saddam, or Kim jong-il, or gaddafi, or hitler.

Bomb civilians, sign ceasefire with no intention of honoring it, target nuclear power stations. Chemical weapons will be next, and if that still fails then drop a nuke or two on West Side of Ukraine. The generals he surrounds himself with are just as extreme, if not more. His moderate advisors have been pushed out.

Nato should do a preemptive nuclear strike from subs rather than a reactive one. Russia have lots of nukes, many have years of neglect and non functioning, and only capable of launching a small amount in one go. As long as China keeps out, it could be possible for most of Europe to survive. Some cities like London will go up in radioactive smoke, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

  11. I want him hung in the gallows. Live streamed across the globe.

We’d of done it with Hitler. We can do it with Putler.

  12. The way I see it is that as far as Putin is concerned NATO is an enemy of Russia and a dangerous one at that,so Ukraine wanting to join NATO and in doing so bringing Russia’s biggest and most dangerous enemy right onto its doorstep is pushing Putin to the point where in his mind he has no choice but go quite literally full scale ballistic on the Ukraine.

Push Putin some more NATO and he’ll unleashed a full blown nuclear war with no life left on this planet as a result considering the nukes he has and its capabilities and the damage they can & will incur on humanity and the planet as a whole.

  13. That won’t happen with Tories and Boris Johnson dragging their feet on sanctions to give time for the oligarchs to evade them
