My partner ordered this through the app, wouldn’t have completed the order had i seen it myself. Is it purely a thing with apps or would the same have occurred if I had phoned up.
If you ordered it through just eat then yes

Yep
Lazy tax charged by shitty companies like just eat and the like
Yeah, all the apps I use from flipdish has a charge when getting delivered or collecting
Don’t think you would get the charge if you had went to the take away and ordered there
Fair enough I suppose, I just thought it was there own personal app at first.
£9.50 for a Phil Babb , dear god never mind the Petrol prices fs , brutal
Yes it is
Is it the cost for a plastic tiffen or a bag/box? I’ve seen this before to cover takeaway costs vs dine in with no charge.
Learn to cook, it’s cheaper, healthier and calms the mind.
Irish people take charge up bum and only complain if it becomes popular or gets on rte.
I went on the local Chinese takeaway’s website and even found their prices were cheaper than Just-Eat and they didn’t charge for collection. I think I saved myself about €1.50 on the order. Small gains.
It might be worthwhile checking their actual website if they have one, in case you can place orders on that.
Was this an online order that you collected? My local chip does this and charges 35p. I’m happy to pay it though. Skip the queues
Our local pizza place charges you 50c to place an order through their own website
Fuck off! hahha the neck
Price of fuel has a knock on effect to everything
We really need to quit junk food .
You paid it!? Yet still complain!?
wtf. never seen that. is that really a thing?
If the store used a third-party takeout order taking website, yeah, probably standard-ish. Even for “cash-on-delivery” :/
I agree. Takeaways shouldn’t include service charge.
Unless you’re eating on the premises.
Who’s to say you ate there and posted the pic for Karma clout?
I work in a takeaway, you would be surprised how much money you could save if you would order on the phone or in person instead of using some app
I have one on Just eat but I can understand that besides that I never seen it before 😳
You want your food cooked? That’s extra kiddo
No a service charge for a takeaway that’s just handing your food over the counter is no normal
They’re twats
Are we really to the point where we’re cribbing and crawing for a fucking 50c service charge from just eat? The service itself has that charge the takeaway has no say
Yeah they add a €0.50 charge to everything regardless of what option you take.
You want to collect the order? €0.50 service charge
You want us to deliver? €3.50 delivery, oh and an additional €0.50 service charge.
You want to pay in cash? €0.50 service charge.
You want to pay by card? C’mon bro you already know it’s a €0.50 service charge.
Won’t be long until we get hit with a €0.50 service charge for looking at a restaurants menu even if we don’t order anything from them.
Damn a 50 cent service charge here in America service charges range from $2.99 to $8.00 and that’s in US dollars
Usually if you use a visa debit or credit card you are charged .50 cent. I’ve seen it on Just-eat
service charge on just eat in all, country is gone to shite with there charges an prices
Ah spice cottage. Is the kebab good there?
Thanks UberEats and JustEat for being c**** and slicing commission on each order.
Take away shops, do us a favour and change to FlipDish (Irish owned, based in Sandyford and says they don’t rip you off)
EDIT — AH nuts. So they are all pretty crummy with their Service Fees. FlipDish, though 50¢ is better than a percentage of each docket.
I don’t mind the charges on the apps, worth it for the convenience.
