I think he’s literally aiming at making the Gaza strip US land. It’s clear he’s obsessed with territorial expansion, I don’t think he has some kind of grand plan for the territory itself.

This has nothing to do with Europe. The notion that the U.S. needs a base in Gaza to pressure the EU is absurd, they have way simpler options for that. Specifically, they also have literally nuclear weapons and a lot of bases in Europe So, what more could they possible need to threaten us militarily? Militarily, a base on Gaza would yield them no significant benefit, while destroying their relationship with their Arab allies. I suspect that Trump is just trying to pressure the Palestinians into a Deal with Israel that includes things they have previously refused to accept, i.e. giving up their “right to return”.
It would have far more to do with influence over the Middle East than Europe.

US has been always directly involved in Middle East orthogonally to Europeans interests.

Keep the EU in check? You do realize how many American troops and equipment are like… already in the EU right? There’s already more than 52,000 US troops in the EU right now. There are American nuclear weapons stored right now at bases in Belgium, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. The US Air Force assets at Ramstein alone are probably more powerful than most EU member air forces, and the US 6th Fleet is homeported in Naples. That’s not even to mention all of the huge US military assets in the UK either.

The US made clear they are neither allies nor friends anymore. We as the EU now have to greatly increase our military power and then throw out the US bases from Europe. Cut ties with them. Cut ties with the people that threatens war with us!

They found some gas near Gaza’s shore. Add to that the nice waterfront for real estate development and strategic position, the 51 state but in the Mediterranean sea.
The EU is already a vassal state of the US. You must not be aware that the US has more than 60 bases in Germany alone. There are countless others in many other EU states. The US blew up the Nord Streams pipelines, the biggest ecological disaster ever, and the EU and all the states looked the other way. Because they can’t do anything. Peace between Russia and Europe would challenge the US hegemony, so since Russian economic and EU economic ties were becoming too common and convenient, the US started the Ukraine war through their alphabet organizations. The US energy + EU economy = great quality of life. But EU economy + Russian energy = greater EU independence and more EU productivity and wealth through cheap reliable Russian energy.
