Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, has announced the commentators and international broadcasts for Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2025.
A total of thirteen commentators will provide commentary for UMK 2024 in eight different languages. The commentators and languages are:
Finnish – Mikko Silvennoinen
Swedish – Johan Lindroos & Eva Franz
English – Jaakko Oleander-Turja
Northern Sámi – Linda Tammela
Inari Sámi – Heli Huovinen
Ukrainian – Galyna Sergeyeva
Russian – Levan Tvaltvadze
Sign language – Miguel Peltomaa, Silva Belghiti, Silja Ruonala, Robin Hänninen & Ada Taalas
As well being broadcast on Yle TV 1 and Yle Areena, UMK 2025 will also be broadcast by some television stations outside of Finland. The following stations will also broadcast UMK 2025:

UMK 2025 will be held on February 8 in the Nokia Arena in Tampere. UMK will be held in Tampere for the fourth time and in the Nokia Arena, the largest indoor arena in Finland, for the second time.
The running order is as follows:

Neea River – “Nightmares“
Goldielocks – “Made Of“
VIIVI – “Aina“
Nelli Matula – “Hitaammin hautaan“
Erika Vikman – “ICH KOMME“
The broadcaster has also announced a change to the voting system. The public can start voting for their favorite artist right after the first UMK25 performance begins, similar to how it is at the Eurovision Song Contest. In previous editions voting only opened after every artist had performed their entry.

Finland first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961. They debuted alongside Spain and Yugoslavia. Finland has finished last in the contest on 10 occasions and has received ‘nul points’ three times. It wasn’t until 2006 that Finland won the Eurovision Song Contest. Lordi represented the country in Athens with the song “Hard Rock Hallelujah” scoring 292 points, a record total at the time
