  1. I swear, if you’re cheap enough to end up in the fucking northern banlieue of Paris during your trip, you kinda asked for it.

    It wasn’t even 50€ if you have to sleep in a shitty hotel in Saint Ouen or Saint Denis.

  4. The comments are hilarious. Every yank saying that most of Paris is like this.
    For anybody with a brain:

    -This is the Ibis Budget near Saint-Ouen’s flea market.
    -This is one of the worst area in the northern suburbs
    -This is after the flea market has been closed and before it was clean up

    I’m torn between explaining this or letting rampant misinformation do its job and enjoy fewer tourists in Paris.

  9. When I go abroad, I too deliberately avoid tourist hotspots, because I want a more genuine experience. The girls got exactly that, why are they so upset?

  15. 50€ will not get you anything (hotel wise) in any city in France, prices are starting at 70€, it’s stupid to look for a cheaper hotel

  16. I mean people should check were hotels are ffs.

    For like 60-70 € you could have a room at the f1 in Montreuil which is placed in a kinda ehhh area still is 3 m away from Paris proper.

    Easy access to tram, bus and metro too.

    Not too far from Vincennes which is a cool town too.

    If you end up in a hotel in fucking 93 you deserve it

  17. They really managed to pick on of the shittiest places to stay even in that area…
    Saint Denis and Saint Ouen have places that are much nicer. And they pick a low budget hotel in a touristic low budget area (the flea market).
    What could go wrong?

  23. Was going to compare it to Soweto or the Cape Flats but those are both unironically much nicer. Our biggest shithole in London is probably Croydon or Wembley and even they’re not that bad.
