  1. Who was responsible for maintaining the tractor and who the hell leaves a 3 year old with x2 dogs whilst they go off on a tractor, regardless????

  2. This is a terrible accident. The dependent was probably very relieved. I am no legal expert, but he has been cleared of killing his child through his own reckless or negligent behaviour.

I cannot access the Mirror article, so here it is on the BBC. [https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwywx42q39po](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwywx42q39po)

  3. > The trial heard Mr Speakman was interviewed by police and said Albie ‘knew not to go near anything’. He said: “He knew, he weren’t f****** stupid… it’s a farm isn’t it? It’s not a f****** playground and Albie knew it weren’t, he knew his boundaries. He knew where he could go and where he couldn’t go.”

    The kid was only 3….

  4. What a joke, was this a jury trial? Sometimes other peoples intelligence scare me

  5. It might be the jury simply thinks it does no good jailing him, it seems like he genuinely believed a 3 year fully understands boundaries and safety. They don’t. He’s negligent but without thinking he was.

A better outcome is more teaching for parents. Someone needed to tell him of what age kids understand things.

  6. One of them “family” farms we been hearing a lot about recently I guess …

  7. Fucking insane. Yes it was an accident but there was obvious negligence involved and the man was a completely incompetent and dangerous parent without a fucking clue of how young children develop. He abandoned his duty of care for that child and should be punished accordingly. Wanker.

  8. At least he doesn’t have to spend more time with that absolute cunt of a father.

  9. The father sounds like a total bastard and an awful human being, but I believe in the case of a genuine accident where a parent has killed their child, jail time seems unnecessary… the parent is in a jail of their own creation for life.

That being said, this guy doesn’t sound like he has that emotional capacity.

  10. Any caring father would have needed a suicide watch after something like that. This callous POS only worried about himself.

  11. I don’t know, the lengths some of these farmers will go to avoid the inheritance tax….

  12. If dad was in the tractor working, where was the child’s mother? Why was the boy out in a field, alone, without supervision?

  13. Makes you wonder how the poor boy was treated even before this accident, with how little his father seems to care for him

  14. Murder by vehicle is the most shrugged off thing in this country, it’s sickening.
