KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Knox County is launching a program aimed at letting businesses implement affordable environment and energy upgrades, called the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy and Resilience (C-PACER) program.
According to the county, the program lets property owners take out long-term, low-cost loans to fund energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and resilience projects. It’s aimed at increasing building performance, reducing energy costs and working against environmental changes.
“We are thrilled to bring the C-PACER program to Knox County, providing our community with a powerful tool to drive sustainable economic growth,” said Knox County Trustee Justin Biggs. “With almost two dozen deals already in the pipeline, we are witnessing an enthusiastic response from local businesses eager to embrace energy-efficient solutions.”
The program offers the following:
Up to 90% financing for projectsRepayment schedules up to 25 yearsThe option to transfer that financing should a new owner buy the property
