These are soldiers, sergeants, and officers. Soldiers of the Naval Forces who were captured in Mariupol and Zaporizhia region, air forces, airborne assault and Ground Forces, National Guardsmen, border guards, teroboronovtsy, as well as a police officer. All of them are from different directions of the front, but they have something in common: they fought for Ukraine.

  1. Sad eyes. Some appear too damaged to look at the camera with a smile.
They have been through terrible things.

  2. Ive never seen 1 smiling Ru POW being so happy to go back to home. This hero’s returnig home smiles make my day

  3. Does it feel like a selected few were sent? Pulter trying to save face from all the tortured POWs that were sent back in the past 2+ years?

  4. Unlike what the orange man says–all these guys ARE heroes, every one of them fought before being captured.

  5. Wow. I’ve watched hundreds of combat video clips from Ukraine and it has been clear that many/most of the soldiers were older, but this really brings it home. The average age of these men is what, maybe 40? Older? In Vietnam, my experience, the average age of the soldiers in the field was probably 20, with NCOs and officers being a little older, maybe late twenties. I don’t know what to mae of it, but the only young Ukrainian soldiers I see on the videos are wearing AR headsets and holding drone controllers. Anyway,it’s a great photo and congratulations and best wishes to each of you.
