Not surprised. This man was literally one of the main reasons for the riots last summer, during which we saw shops set on fire and places of worship attacked. I don’t know why he is so invested in UK affairs, what is he trying to gain?
He doesn’t care. He’s got the wallet of the US in his pocket. You’ll see him abandon his companies in his quest to create is oligarchy dictatorship.
Good, Musk has behaved like an utter tit for many years now and has escaped relatively unharmed. His blatant misinformation campaigns and obsession with Starmer isn’t healthy.
Now people need to stop using PayPal, Starlink and Twitter. Take away his userbase and Trump will dump him very quickly.
Its insane that he can even sell swasticars at this point
Or as the economic outlook is dire, the cars are expensive with known QA/QC issues, and there is greater competition on the market.
Pretty much all car manufacturers sales have dropped since 2020 by a significant amount. Most have also declined in the last year. M
The standard highlight only Tesla though for some reason!

Years ago I always figured I would get a Tesla when I eventually make the switch to EV as they were quite far ahead of the competition. These days I wouldn’t go near the brand.
Even Tesla owners are embarrassed to own one at this point, some have stickers on their cars saying they bought before Musk turned into a twat.
One would assume Musk will have to sell the company for its brand image to turn around, but the company’s market cap is so absurd that can’t happen.
How any rational person would want anything to do with any of his products at the moment beggars belief.
Also the cars themselves have issues. A lot of issues.
If someone I knew bought a Tesla after everything that’s happened (inciting riots in the UK, endorsing Tommy Robinson and the AfD, publicly throwing Hitler salutes, etc), I would suspect that they’re a bit of a cunt.
It might have been different when Tesla were the leading EV manufacturers and you could say that your need to buy the best EV outweighs the Nazi stuff. But now that there are high quality brands producing high end EVs that are much better than Tesla’s cars and there are low-end manufacturers building decent quality EVs which are much cheaper than anything put out by Tesla, it’s a bit harder to make that argument.
Right now, why the hell would you buy a Tesla and associate yourself with Musk?
I was looking to get a Tesla recently and my wife said she didn’t want one because of Elon… glad I didn’t now. Also the insurance premiums for Tesla’s are absurd, all their cars are in the 40+ group…
Lots of companies make cheaper and just as efficient electric vehicles now some that actually fit in UK parking spaces too
No need for cars with touch screens and yokes
Aside from the politics, Tesla has had terrible QA issues, their cars are incredibly expensive, and now there is a lot more reasonable competition. VW, BMW, Nissan, etc. all have cars in a more reasonable price range, and are easier to service due to their existing dealerships and being known brands in the UK. These other manufacturers are also making their EVs into cars, not iPads with wheels which may or may not turn.
Tesla were the best EV by a long way. Now people are seeing the same range from everyone else, but with better build quality and some actual thought gone into user experience/ergonomics. Early adopters were happy to reboot their dashboard a few times a day because they had a unique product.
The fact that he’s a total bellend isn’t the only reason why sales are declining.
This man could have been the greatest philanthropist and innovator leading the world into electric cars and space travel. A proper Tony Stark
Now all sane people can see he’s just a fanny
Good.
Musk is an utter disappointment. Here’s a multi-billionaire with noble goals of putting humans on Mars, making the ICE obsolete and drawing up plans for building massive renewable energy plants of various types.
He could have changed the world.
Instead he fell victim to his own narcissistic hubris and decided to interfere with things that are literally nothing to do with him.
It’s got nothing to do with Musk going into politics and everything to do with the Chinese bringing in decent cheap EVs and EU manufacturers forced to compete lowering their prices. Pretty much every European EV manufacturer has models cheaper than Teslas and with better build quality as well as physical buttons for things like windscreen wipers and heater controls.
He doesn’t need the money from car sales anymore that fascist is the acting president
People driving Teslas really do need to stop & think about who they are enabling.
Yeah I wouldn’t want to be driving around in a car associated with him, people would assume I was a twat. Plus I bet they get vandalised more.
He’ll want to buy Europe now to try and stop everyone hating him.
Lesson learned Elon – all the money in the world and you’re still a dick. Can’t buy your way out of that. Dick.
Kind of a weird politicisation of electric car sales. [Which have notably slumped across the board. ](https://www.businessinsider.com/mercedes-benz-sliding-ev-sales-and-weak-demand-in-china-2024-10)The bigger story here is the European recession and rise of Chinese EVs.
If you own a Tesla and are a decent person with the means to switch to a different vehicle, sell up to a dealership or someone not concerned about Musk now while you still can, otherwise you might get locked into keeping the thing with no option to sell for anything near what it’s worth.
“Goose steps” into politics would be more accurate lols
I’ve had a Model 3 since 2021, it’s a great car. It’s a lease car and I can’t change it until 2026
I wouldn’t get another Tesla right now regardless of the Musk Rat, there are other great EVs available now and I’d rather try something different
Honestly, I don’t feel self conscious driving it. I don’t think most people in the UK have the same handle on US politics as people on Reddit and most don’t care anyway
Finally, for clarity, Elon is a twat
So registrations for Tesla have fell 7% in the UK but overall car sales have fell by 2.5%?
I think the Nazi salute would be one of the answers
