‘Very real’ risk of ceasefire ‘unravelling’, expert says • FRANCE 24 English

There is a “very, very real” risk of the Gaza ceasefire “unravelling”, Director and Co-Founder of NGO Forward Thinking Oliver McTernan told FRANCE 24, citing the fragile peace and emotionally charged atmosphere in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. “It doesn’t look promising, I feel the procedure … is full of risks,” he said.

  1. Nobody said "Forced"
Folk will be offered apartments – the first to go get the best choice
Those that go last may be in a tent camp
    It will not be "forced"

  2. Well said Expert in Middle East affairs (Oliver) – the only viable solution is a two-state solution. Where Israel and Palestine exist side-by-side. Afterwards, they can then decide whether they will come together as a federation or not. This will pave the way for them to agree on the set of rules that govern them

  3. No the root cause is that Hamas want to destroy all of Israel, they are completely uninterested in the 2 state solution. Until that changes, how can Israel negotiate with a group whose avowed goal is their destruction.

  4. There will be no Palestinians state , NEVER nor two state solutions , Palestinians believed in one state a Palestinians Islamic state including Jerusalem and the whole lands of Israel , this is based on a specific ideology of the Muslims brotherhood . However when did a Palestinians or any hamas leaders were agreed on a two state solutions ? That's why war will continued , one must win and one must lost

  5. We just want all hostages and remains home. The Lord doesn't need agreements to bring them home and I continue to pray and praise him for those that have been freed.

  6. Two-State only with a new government NOT tied to terrorists. Almost impossible at this time. Hamas wants to stay in control. You need a multi-national peacekeeping force to keep order during a rebuild of Gaza.

  7. "Palestinians" belong home in Egypt and Jordan. Tell that old WASP to keep his beak out of the ME and no longer provided analysis.

  8. The only ones who want the hostages back are their families, the government and isre@li society want the land they couldn't care less about any hostages

  9. Duh- the ceasefire is an extortion & ransom deal. Neither side has accepted peace with the other. Why would anyone think it is stable or could lead to a long term ceasefire? Not realistic. The speaker here ignores the very strong rejection of 2 states by Palestinian society and leadership, it has been consistent since the fall of the Ottoman Empire there. 2 state solution is a slogan, not a way of addressing reality. After October 7, 2023 & these ridiculous hostage release ceremonies along with the PA’s official position and actions the entertainment of a 2 state solution is wrong on so many levels. It also keeps the Palestinians stuck under the control of despots and jihadi terror organizations, locked in hopelessness due to the political goals of other countries & people.

  10. Oliver McTernan……Thankyou, someone who genuinely cares & makes perfect sense……Unlike, Trump, Netanyahu or all those who have
    THEIR OWN AGENDAS……

  11. Maybe it’s unraveling because a. Hamas is a genocidal murderous terrorist group who care more about death than life
    B. It is mainly a hostage deal- if you refuse to give up the hostages , than why should you get a ceasefire ?
