Setting aside the more controversial concept that many of these countries are pretty safe if you’re not a complete scumbag, I increasingly struggle with why police investigations don’t begin with the question of “how the fuck do you afford that?”. Albania’s a holiday destination, I understand people coming from war zones like Syria or Ukraine, people who come from countries like Afghanistan etc to escape gender based discrimination or people coming to escape oppressive dictatorships but Albania is on the way to becoming an EU member why do we still accept asylum seekers from there – what are they seeking asylum from? It makes no sense
