  6. What needs to follow is an absolute boycott of X. After all it’s easy to buy another car when there are many brands to choose from, while X has a certain monopoly and in fact remains much more destructive to our democracies. This monopoly has to be not only broken, Musk’s portal for rambling far-right shit has to be abandoned by European institutions and users altogether.

  20. There’s a new car coming so it makes sense for sales to be down. And anyway, people trying to read too much into monthly sales for Tesla always get burnt as the company has a policy of “batch releases” which makes it such only yearly (or at most quarterly) comparisons makes sense.

Also, if you don’t want to support Trump, you should know that he has, or has had shares, in many big global companies, such as Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet (Google’s parent company), Tesla, Nvidia, Meta Platforms, PepsiCo, Coca Cola, McDonald’s, Pfizer, Netflix, Booking.com, and Momondo.com.

    After learning what companies he has shares in, it’s not surprising that he made McDonalds support him in his election campaign. They couldn’t say no him since he has a lot of shares in the company, and they therefore didn’t want to make him angry.

  38. The article mentions a 60% (well, 59%) drop for Tesla in Germany in Januar YOY. Important to note in addition to that: BEV sales actually rose by over 50% last month compared to January 2024.
    Also, total BEV sales in Germany were 34,498 in January. Tesla sold fewer than 1,300. Giving the a market share of under 4% of BEVs.

    Worth noting: His nazi salute only happened towards the end of January, so any effect that had is not even visible in January sales.

  39. Teslas ARE sh!tty cars. For the kind of money they cost, you can get a much better EV from just about any other manufacturer.

  46. I wish this was true, but in reality this is probably because people are waiting for the new Tesla model Y. Next quarter we will know whether there’s a real Muskolini effect on sales.

    They’re not all that anyway. We’re good in 2018 but everyone else has caught up and are cheaper in EU

  49. I know two people who have Tesla’s here in the UK. And for the longest time here if you owned a Tesla you were often upper middle class and quite environmentally conscious. It’s safe to say both have gotten rid of them
