According to this poll 40% of germans want to continue military support as is, and 27% want to support Ukraine more. Furthermore are 59% in favor of the Bundeswehr being involved in a peace keeping force in case the fighting ends, and 35% against it.
There is a majority in all political partys in favor of supporting Ukraine except the AfD(right wing exremists) and BSW(xenophobes and tankies). Strongest supporters are the Green party.
Expectedly support is lower in east Germany. But still even there 53% support Ukraine.
And what’s the fucking alternative? Ignore the problem until it bites you in the ass 5-10 years later? Yeah, Europe is great at that.
Germany is already under attack from russia. Besides the much needed empathy/morality, germanys past with ukraine, the idea of a united europe and so many other reasons, supporting ukraine can be the only answer.
Better Ukrainians continue to kill Russians, otherwise we will eventually have to do it ourselves.
