The officer in the video was later arrested by the Assad regime after this footage went public. The regime didn’t like the idea of any dialogue with the opposition. It was later known that the officer was from the Syrian coast, from a village with a majority Alawite population. Unfortunately, according to Syrian activists (Syrian Revolution Archive), it seems he [died in Assad’s prisons](https://syrianobserver.com/syrian-actors/regime_kills_army_officer_who_spoke_to_free_syrian_army.html).
Honestly? One of the bravest actions I’ve seen. Dropping his rifle and walking over takes brass balls, regardless of who is right or wrong. To walk over and talk in battle… I couldn’t imagine
This is really, really Brave and so wholesome.
Anyone know the ending to this ??
He kinda looks like Borat 😁
“Even the stones are dear to me.” Fuck man…..any other Americans out there, I know a lot of us feel this way, we might have different ideas on how to express it. But we gotta talk to eachother, we can’t let this happen here.
Syrian war is so sad
This is lowkey beautiful
It’s a shame he died, but this footage is one of the most uplifting things I’ve seen on Reddit in a long time. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder if anyone of these guys are still alive and involved in a group. Any of them in hts now ?
Bravery without wisdom is a sword without a sheathe. He should have listened more and talked less.
