Doha, Qatar: Minister of Transport H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani met with Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H E Dr. Rumaih Al Rumaih, on the sidelines of the inaugural edition of Seatrade Maritime Qatar.

The two officials discussed aspects of cooperation in the areas of transportation, and ways to enhance them, particularly the logistic services supporting the maritime transportation industry.

The Minister of Transport also held separate meetings with the Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) Director General H E Sheikh Khaled Salem Al Sabah, the Undersecretary of Ports and Maritime Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications H E Bader Hood Al Mahmood, and Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure H E Eng. Hessa Al Malek.

The three meetings were held on the sidelines of Seatrade Maritime Qatar and discussed the bilateral relations in the areas of maritime transportation and ways to develop them to the best interest of the brotherly countries.

They also discussed the latest on sustainable and ecofriendly maritime transportation.

The Minister of Transport meeting Deputy Minister of Shipping of Cyprus H E Marina Hadjimanolis.

Meanwhile, the bilateral relations between Qatar and Cyprus in the areas of transportation and mobility services and ways to enhance them especially in maritime navigation and ports were at the centre of discussion when the Minister of Transport and Cyprus Deputy Minister of Shipping H E Marina Hadjimanolis met on the sidelines of the Seatrade Maritime Qatar.

The Minister of Transport also met with the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) H E Arsenio Dominguez.

The two officials discussed Qatar-IMO relations in the areas of marine environment protection and Qatar’s support to global maritime industry.

They also reviewed ways to enhance those ties, in addition to highlighting Qatar’s positive and efficient work at the IMO Council in Category C.
